What a walk-in interview is, what to bring, how to dress, and the warning signs of a fake walk-in in Dubai.

Updated 25 October 2026

What is a walk-in interview?

A walk-in interview is an open session where you go to the employer's office or a hotel venue at the stated time, without booking. Hotels, restaurants, security companies, cleaning companies and retail chains in Dubai often hire this way, especially when they need many people quickly.

On JobSahar you can see current walk-ins on the "Walk-in interviews" pages for each city.

What to bring

  • Several printed copies of your CV (one or two pages).
  • A copy of your passport and, if you have them, your visa page and Emirates ID.
  • Copies of certificates and experience letters, and your UAE driving licence for driver jobs.
  • Passport-size photos.
  • A pen and a phone that is charged.

On the day

Arrive early. Walk-ins can be busy and some close when they have enough candidates. Dress neatly, as for any interview.

Be ready to answer questions about your experience, your visa status and when you can start. Ask about the salary, working hours, days off, accommodation and transport if these are not in the ad.

Warning signs of a fake walk-in

A genuine employer does not charge candidates anything. If you are asked for money, leave and report the job.

  • You are asked to pay a fee at the venue for registration, medical or visa processing.
  • The venue is a private flat or a cafe instead of an office or hotel business centre.
  • They keep your original passport or documents.

Questions

Do I need an appointment for a walk-in interview?

No. You go at the stated date and time. Some employers also ask you to send your CV first; the ad will say so.

Can I attend a walk-in on a visit visa?

Usually yes. The employer will then need to arrange your work permit before you start work.

Is it normal to pay for a walk-in interview?

No. Never pay to attend an interview or to get a job.
