Engineer / Senior Engineer, Safety at OQ, Sohar
OQ, Oman's integrated energy group, is hiring an Engineer or Senior Engineer, Safety for its refineries and petroleum industries (RPI) operations in Sohar. What you will do: - Review safety performance across the assigned sites and plan improvements. - Build and run safety systems, procedures and standards in line with OQ's HSE system. - Find hazards and design ways to remove or control them, including on projects and plant changes (management of change). - Lead or join serious incident investigations. - Support risk studies such as HAZOP, HAZID and QRA, and contractor safety management. - Lead ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 work, audits, safety reports and training material, and mentor team members. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
- Engineer level: 5–7 years of relevant experience; Senior Engineer: 6–8 years
- Safety experience in oil & gas, preferably refinery or petrochemical
- Knowledge of HAZOP or similar studies, risk methods, ISO 45001 and RC14001
- Experience with HSE audits, incident management, permit to work and contractor HSSE
- Knowledge of Oman HSSE regulations
- Excellent written and spoken English; native Arabic desirable
