Emirates and Etihad are the UAE's two big airlines. Thousands of people apply to them every year. Sadly, scammers know this. They use the airlines' names to sell fake jobs.
This guide shows you the safe way to apply. All facts come from the airlines' own careers websites.
Where to apply: the official careers sites
Emirates Group: emiratesgroupcareers.com
This one site covers the Emirates Group, not just the airline. The group says it has about 120,000 employees from over 170 nationalities, and more than 45 brands. They work in aviation, travel, retail, hospitality, catering and education. dnata is part of the group.
Etihad: careers.etihad.com
Etihad's careers site lists its teams and recruitment events. When you click "apply", it can take you to Etihad's pages on SmartRecruiters, the hiring system Etihad uses. That is normal. But always start from careers.etihad.com, not from a link someone sent you.
Emirates Group says its job offers are published only through its verified careers website.

Emirates also says you must be able to meet UAE employment visa requirements. Etihad says it is not linked to any cabin crew academy, but academy students may apply.
Pay and training (Emirates)
Emirates publishes its cabin crew pay. For Grade II (Economy Class), it lists approximate figures:
- Basic salary: AED 4,980 a month
- Flying pay: AED 69.6 an hour, based on an average of 80 to 100 hours a month
- Average monthly pay: AED 11,244
Emirates provides shared furnished accommodation and transport to work. New crew train for about seven and a half weeks in Dubai.
Etihad says its cabin crew get a tax-free salary, a home in Abu Dhabi and three-year renewable contracts.
Open days and assessment days
Both airlines hold recruitment events around the world.
Emirates lists Open Days on its cabin crew page. Some are open for you to walk in. Others are invitation-only, and you must apply online first to be invited. Check the event details carefully.
On the day, Emirates says to expect:
- Introduction to the role and life in Dubai
- Assessment: group activities and an online test at the venue
- Final interview
Bring a valid ID. Keep digital copies of these on your phone:
- an up-to-date CV in English
- a copy of your education certificate
- a passport copy in PDF
In a few countries, Emirates names an appointed local agency on its own event list. If an agency is not named on the official site, be careful.
Etihad runs invite-only Cabin Crew Assessment Days. First, complete the Cabin Crew Worldwide online application. If selected, you are invited. On the day there are group activities, aptitude and English tests, and a final interview.
Both airlines also list some virtual or online information sessions.
How to apply, step by step
- Go to the official site by typing the address yourself.
- Create an account.
- Search for the role and check the requirements.
- Prepare a short CV in English (1 to 2 pages) and a recent photo if asked.
- Apply online and save your login details safely.
- Watch your email for an invitation. Check that it comes from an official address.
- Attend the assessment or interview.
Do not share your login with anyone. Emirates Group says it will never ask for your user ID or password.
Visa and costs
Emirates says that once you are selected for cabin crew, it handles your work permit and visa. In the UAE, the Labour Law also says employers may not charge workers recruitment and employment costs.
One thing to note: Emirates says that before joining, cabin crew must fill a self-declaration medical form and get a dental form completed, and that any costs for these are paid by the candidate. More medicals are then done by Emirates in Dubai.
Red flags of fake airline jobs
Both airlines warn about fake job offers. Treat the offer as fake if:
- Someone asks for money. Emirates: "Any job offer, seemingly from the Emirates Group, that asks you for money is fraudulent." Etihad: no member of the group "will ever ask for payment of any kind".
- You were not interviewed. Etihad says it interviews candidates before any formal offer.
- The contact is on WhatsApp, social media or a free email. Emirates says official emails come from addresses like @emirates.com or @dnata.com.
- They ask for bank or card details. Both airlines advise never to share these in a job application.
- They ask for your careers account password.
- You never applied on the official site.
